How To Make Gajar Ka Halwa | Indian Dessert Recipes – POPxo Yum

If there’s one thing everyone loves about Winter it’s… Gajar Ka Halwa! Here’s how you can make gajar ka halwa at home (without your mom’s help!). Trust us, your friends and family will LOVE this! 😀

Ingredients:
1 1/2 tbsp ghee
4 medium carrots grated
1/2 cup khoya (mawa) grated
1/4 cup milk
4-5 strands saffron
1/3 cup chopped nuts toasted
1/2 tsp elaichi powder
1/2 cup sugar

Method:
– In a medium heavy saucepan, heat ghee on low heat. Add grated carrots and cook for 10 minutes or until the carrot changes colour to orange.
– Add the grated khoya and milk, and cook for another 10 mins or until the milk has dried. Add saffron strands and mix.
– Fold in the toasted nuts. Lastly, add the sugar and mix well. Cook for 2 mins. Remove from heat and serve warm. Garnish with nuts or pair with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
