Shahi Tukra Indian Bread Pudding Dessert Recipe Easy

Learn how to make easy, quick Instant 10 minute Shahi Tukda recipe at home. It is also known as Double ka meetha (Indian bread pudding). A famous Hyderabadi dessert with homemade Rabri. This recipe has it’s roots to the Mughalai cuisine. It is particularly prepared during the festive month of Diwali, Holi, Ramadan, Eid and on many other festivals. The recipe uses bread, condensed milk, yogurt, sugar and dry fruits.

Ingredients:

For Rabri / milk mixture:
100 ml sweetened condensed milk
3 TBSP milk
2TBSP Yoghurt
For Toasted Bread:
4 Toast bread slices
Oil for toasting as required

Garnish with some crushed nuts

Preparation:

Remove brown sides of bread using a sharp knife. Then cut into triangles or leave as is in square shape. In a large pan, heat oil/ghee and toast both sides of bread slices until light golden brown in color and crisp. Don’t burn. It may change the flavor also. Repeat the same for all slices. Set aside. For rabri, in a microwave safe pan add condensed milk and yogurt. Mix well and microwave it for 1 minutes to combine everything Meanwhile arrange toasted bread slices in a dish. Pour some sugar syrup over the bread slices. Pour the rabri over arrange bread. Sprinkle some nuts over Shahi Tukde. Garnish with nuts. Refrigerate for 5-6 hours so that bread can absorb rabri properly. Serve chilled. Enjoy!
